Dark Elves in Games:
Warcraft

The Night Elves (also known as Kaldorei, which means Children of the Stars) in the realm of Warcraft are an ancient race with a strong affinity with nature. The Kaldorei have been around since the creation of the world, and drew their power and wisdom from a well called the Well of Eternity. Queen Azshara (queen of the Kaldorei in the ancient times, who is now the ruler of the serpentine Naga race) ordered the upperclass Kaldorei, whom she referred to as the "Highborne", to study the Well, and through this they discovered magic. It is through the abuse of magic that the Well of Eternity was destroyed, and this rendered the Kaldorei mortal while killing off most of the Highborne. After this, the Highborne, now calling themselves Quel’dorei (High Elves), left their homeland of Kalimdor, while the remaining Kaldorei renamed themselves Night Elves.

Night Elves are typically depicted with cool/neutral-colored skin tones, such as purple, blue, green, black, or white. Their hair is also depicted with a similar palette. The females are typically trained as warriors known as Sentinels, while the males are trained to become Druids, but this gender division has become less strict as time passed. They worship deities called Ancients, who are closely connected to the forest and to hunting.

The Night Elves are formidable warriors, boasting an arsenal of Druidic magic as well as proficiency with the bow and the glaive. They are also capable of melding with the shadows of the night when standing still, and this renders them invisible. Animals such as panthers, tigers, chimaera, and even treants also aid Night Elves in battle.
